- Description
- The FAA is conducting a market survey for Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Building Information Modeling (BIM) and drawing management software licensing and updates; consulting services; and training for a suite of products representing all of the engineering disciplines relative to construction and building services. The CADD-BIM software must be capable of providing double precision accuracy in its calculations; must read and write natively to both the MicroStation.dgn format and the Autodesk.dwg format; and must provide two-way title block integration with ProjectWise. The software requirements extend to the capabilities outlined in the attached specification. The training must be provided by certified instructors and in the locations throughout the continental US, Alaska and Hawaii (major sites listed below). Training methods should be all inclusive of formal classroom training on site, formal web-based instructor-led training and self-paced web-accessible training. Due to the fact that the FAA ™s Air Traffic Organization has been using the Bentley suite for over 10 years, any potential offeror must show how the FAA will be relieved of any loss in productivity resulting from learning to be able to meet its ongoing requirements in light of the sequestration and the inability to hire CADD administrators and end users due to overall budget limitations. The offeror must also show that their drawing management system toolset can meet current ProjectWise Electronic Drawing Management System Specifications. All software must be catalogued items and commercially available. All responses (one per company) are to be provided on company letterhead and limited to a total of 5 typewritten pages. No type font less than 11 point may be used. In order to make this determination and to be considered responsive, the FAA requires the following information from interested vendors: a. Capability Statement (addressing the ability to meet all the requirements identified in CAD BIM Specs and FAA Hardware and Software List). b. Completed Business Declaration Form (attached). ATTACHMENTS: a. Business Declaration Form b. CAD BIM Specs c. Please note that the FAA e-mail server restricts file size to 10MB per email message, therefore, responses may have to be submitted in more than one e-mail in order to be received. This market survey is for informational purposes only and shall not be construed as a commitment or a promise to contract by the Government. All Submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on August 12, 2013. For questions, requests for additional information, etc. regarding this market survey, contact Stephen Young, Contracting Specialist, via E-mail: Stephen.Young@faa.gov.
