Description
Industry Day Presentation Slides 1. Introduction: This is an announcement for an industry day for planning purposes to be hosted by the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG). 2. Background: As an installation, the FLARNG currently is not operating a formal recycling program. The FLARNG has several recycling efforts established within certain facilities and CBJTC, however a formal plan will maximize benefits and ensure the recycling efforts and benefits are used within all statutory and regulatory requirements. Many of the facilities are not large enough for extensive recycling, or are in rural areas with no viable market. To assist the FLARNG in determining whether an all encompassing recycling program is advantageous. The event is scheduled for 9:00AM - 12:00PM on Friday, 2 August, 2013. 3. Objective: a. Promote recycling efforts across the FLARNG facilities and activities. b. To conduct fair, even and transparent dialogue with the commercial base to identify industry best practices and to assist the FLARNG in defining our requirements and create a performance work statement to be used during the solicitation process. c. Meet or exceed DoD's goal to divert 50% of the FLARNG's solid waste from landfill disposal and incineration while ensuring the program provides an economic benefit. d. To formalize the QRP and eventually integrate it with the FLARNG Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Plan. e. To operate the program efficiently; and when funds are available, to provide support and expand our recycling efforts to other areas as well as support our Morale, Welfare, and Recreations (MWR) programs IAW applicable regulations. f. Maximize the availability of training lands and facilities. g. Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state or local environmental laws and regulations, and all other requirements, as required. h. Revise and establish federal contracts to increase recyclable revenues and/or promote cost avoidance when practical. 4. Special Note: This announcement is not a contract, a request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind on the part of the Government.
