Description
This synopsis is a pre-solicitation notice and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Office of Human Resources Management (HRM) supports the recruitment, hiring, and retention of qualified employees for various positions within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The purpose of the upcoming solicitation is to procure pre-employment fitness testing services. The Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO), Border Patrol Agent (BPA), Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), Marine Interdiction Agent (MIA), and Aviation Enforcement Agent (AEA) candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment are required to undergo a Pre-Employment Fitness Test-1 (PFT-1) to ensure that the candidate is prepared to meet the physical demands of the Academy and job. All of these candidates shall pass the PFT-1 prior to completing the hiring process. On occasion, a current U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) employee may have to perform the PFT-1 as well. These services shall include the Contractor providing all fitness testing facilities in the continental United States including Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and Saipan, all fitness testing personnel, electronic communications of all fitness test data, all equipment, and attending all meetings as required to complete the contract. A detailed Statement of Work will be included in the Request for Proposal (RFP)/ solicitation. CBP intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. It is anticipated that CBP will award one (1) single award fixed price, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract. The contract's period of performance will consist of one base period and up to four one year option periods. The anticipated release date of the RFP will be available in late July 2013 or early August 2013. The RFP/solicitation will be issued via Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website at http://www.fbo.gov. A hard copy solicitation will not be issued. Potential offerors are hereby notified that the solicitation and subsequent amendments to the RFP/solicitation will only be available on the FedBizOpps website. Prospective offerors are responsible for monitoring FedBizOpps for the release of the solicitation and any amendments that follow. Additionally, offerors are responsible for downloading the RFP/solicitation and all attachments when posted.
