- Unimproved grounds areas at operational installations and cantonment areas, shall be mown and mulched with suitable equipment (e.g. weed eater, flail mower, mulch-mowers etc.). Prior start of work, refuse, stones and branches found in the area, shall be picked up and disposed of in accordance with the pertinent regulations. Clippings shall remain, evenly spread, at site. Dirt caused by mowing work shall be removed, the same day. Damaged trees, selected by the government at site, shall be pruned. Broken tree branches and dead wood still hanging in the crown shall be removed and a safe and stabile tree crown formation shall be restored. If necessary the tree crown shall be cut back, up to 30% of its extension. Item includes professional performance and all equipment (e.g. lifting platforms) and safety-precautions required. Cut material shall be removed the same day and shall be disposed of in accordance with pertinent regulations. Substantial damaged trees to be selected by the government at site shall be felled and removed. If necessary for a safe performance the trees shall be felled piece by piece. The trunk shall sawn off as low as possible. The tree stump shall remain in the ground. Item includes professional performance and all equipment (e.g. lifting platform) and safety precautions required. Usable wood, if claimed by the Federal Forest Service, shall be transported to a storage area within the respective real estate and shall be piled up. All residual wood shall be removed and disposed of in accordance with pertinent regulations.
