Description
Full Announcement AFOSR is seeking unclassified proposals that do not contain proprietary information for a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Nature Inspired Sciences. This center is a joint project between the AFRL's Air Force Office of Scientific Research and the Munitions Directorate. The CoE will extend the research capabilities of AFRL and provide opportunities for a new generation of US scientists and engineers to address Air Force basic research needs. Proposals for work of two years duration will be considered for funding and two 2-year option periods will be entertained. Proposals will be evaluated by peer review according to the criteria provided below. Awards under this BAA may take the form of grants or contracts. This research effort should consist of interdisciplinary teams of researchers with the skills needed to address the relevant research challenges necessary to meet the program goals. Multi-investigator and/or multi-university teaming is encouraged but not required. Proposals should describe cutting-edge efforts on basic scientific principles and problems..The recipient of this award must be an educational institution in the US as defined by 10 USC 2194.
