- Description
- The US Forest Service awarded a firm fixed price contract to to the Water Environment Federation. This contract pertains to the continued support to the Interagency Sustainable Water Resources Roundtable (SWRR) through the Water Environment Federation (WEF). This sole source contract is awarded under the authority of FAR part 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source. The US Forest Service participates in a Federal Advisory Committee on Water Information (ACWI) authorized by the White House Office of Management and Budget in 1991 to support Federal Agencies see http://acwi.gov/m9201.html and http://acwi.gov/aboutus.html ACWI has several subgroups with participation from Federal Agencies, State Government, Corporations, Academia and non profits. This obligation the Forest Service has been making is to support the annual work of the Sustainable Water Resources Roundtable (SWRR) -- one of the subgroups of the Federal Advisory Committee. SWRR meetings and outreach through it's e-mails are a useful platform for dissemination of information on USFS programs we want to make known to water professionals. The Water Environment Federation (WEF) is a not-for-profit technical and educational organization of 36,000 individual members and 75 affiliated Member Associations representing water quality professionals around the world. The WEF works in close collaboration with SWRR (a subgroup of the The WEF provides water quality education, training, and various informational exchange opportunities. WEF's diverse membership includes scientists, engineers, regulators, academics, utility managers, plant operators, and other professionals. WEF uses this collective knowledge to further a shared goal of improving water quality around the world. This is not a request for quotes, and no formal solicitation was issued.
