Description
This Special Notice is to post the following assumptions for LRIP, EMD Qualification, and LUT, LFT&E, FDTE, and/or IOTE for the ROM estimating process regarding the RFI for ITEP that is being solicited under W58RGZ-13-R-0317: For LRIP assume 250 engines over a 2 yr period. 75 engines the first year, 175 engines the second year. This allows for a ramp up to 250 engines per yr. For EMD Qualification, assume two(2) vehicles each for Black Hawk and Apache, with one (1) engine set and one (1) spare engine for each aircraft. For LUT, LFT&E, FDTE, and/or IOTE, the Government anticipates that the LRIP phase will include flight test logistical and engineering support for approximately 150 flight hours of aircraft developmental testing for each aircraft type as well as 120 flight hours for IOTE testing. Engineering support is expected to include evaluation of engine starting, operability and performance, installation survey data reduction as well as software changes on-site. During engine manufacture for the LRIP phase, which may be an option to the basic EMD contract, 22 number of those engines produced will be required for the 9 aircraft (5 H-60M and 4 AH-64E) modified for Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOTE). These LRIP engines will be fully qualified so that operational pilots can conduct the evaluation. The engine will likely remain with the aircraft as part of first unit equipped and system fielding. No responses are required to this Special Notice.
