Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7, intends to negotiate a one year sole-source contract with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, 165 Cannon St. STE 401, Charleston, SC 29425-0001, on or around August 20, 2013, 2013 to provide "Statistical and Epidemiological Expertise for the Center for Disease Prevention and Health Interventions for Diverse Populations (REAP) Services" at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. The Department of Biostatistics & Epidemiology members will perform the following duties: Assistance to REAP investigators in developing and writing health services research grant submissions, analyses of large VA datasets and design and planning of VA HSR&D funded studies. The proposed contractor possesses unique qualifications that require the use of the authority below. The Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology is experienced with the requirements necessary to successfully complete the requested work. NAICS Code: 621511 Medical Laboratories (Size Standard $30 Million). This proposed procurement is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than Aug 02, 2013, 4 p.m. EDT. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
