- Description
- The purpose of this effort is to obtain engineering support for the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) and Mechanical Equipment and Subsystem Integrity Program (MECSIP) on the TH-1H, UH-1N and HH-60G fleet, referred to as United States Air Force (USAF) rotary-wing aircraft. T his effort includes a wide range of analyses, to include engineering research, integration and technical support services, to isolate and analyze potential deficiencies related to USAF rotary-wing weapon systems. This effort will focus on identifying and solving structural and mechanical integrity issues, especially issues associated with the increasing age of the aircraft such as fatigue cracking, damage tolerance, and corrosion. Engineering data, required to implement solutions, is also provided by this effort. This effort benefits the Air Force by helping increase aircraft availability and reducing maintenance downtime. This will be a sole source requirement and will be awarded under a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) (FA8509-13-G-0001) for engineering analysis/support established with Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC), a not-for-profit operating unit of The Corporation of Mercer University. The unique analytical tools and ability to manipulate the software is only resident with MERC. Estimated date of solicitation is 14 August 2013.
