Description

Intent to Sole Source The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contacting Office (NCO 6) intends to sole source a firm-fixed-price, sole-source purchase order to a SDVOSB- Vet Built, Inc. 819 East Blvd. Williamston, NC. The requirement is for construction of Nurse Workstations (millwork) for 2 floors in Building 21 which is being renovated at the Salisbury VA Medical Center. The lead time on construction of millwork is 4-6 weeks. Delay of award will hold up the ongoing NRM construction project and create a backlog in terms of subsequent electrical/ utility/ inspection stages of construction. This requirement will be fulfilled on a sole-source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-2, unusual and compelling urgency. The purchase order will be granted in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures. THIS NOTICE IS NEITHER A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION NOR A SOLICITATION OF OFFERS. A determination not to compete this proposal contract has been made Pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1), as implemented by 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), this requirement has been justified and approved in accordance with FAR 6.303 and FAR 6.304. All inquires and concerns must be addressed in writing to the e-mail address stated herein. Because of the urgency of the requirement, responses to this notice must be received by July 31, 2013, before 10:00 am EST to dori.dabbs2@va.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
