Description
Hospital Wide Steam Trap Survey and Repairs at the Bedford VA medical Center Contractor will perform a hospital wide comprehensive steam trap survey for approximately 2500 high, medium & low pressure steam traps. For each trap the survey will consist of locating the trap, identifying the type of trap, evaluation of the trap for its correct type and application, operational status, and each trap will be tested by the Ultrasound testing method for leakage and failure. Each trap will be identified with a 2" round stainless steel metal tag, stainless steel hanger; tag will be stamped & numbered consecutively. Identification of traps in certain areas (i.e.-metal health) may require a different type of tag. Once the survey is completed, the contractor will provide a written report of the findings. The report will include an Introduction, Data section, Losses Section, Results section & a recommendations section. A steam trap matrix will be provided with the following information for each trap; Tag#, Application, Building/Floor/Room, Trap location/Elevation, Manufacturer, Model, Type, Pipe size, System pressure, Temp in/out, Result, & Comments. The survey shall take no more than 3 months to complete. The survey will be conducted during the facilities heating season which is typically October thru May. Upon completion of the survey, the Contractor will meet with the Contracting Officer (CO and the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) to discuss the findings.
