Image of Renard Island Specs--FY13 Renard Island Closure Plans--FY13 Renard Island Closure Instructions for Viewing Plans Solicitation W911XK-13-B-0004 FY13 Renard Island Closure, Green Bay, WI FY13 Renard Island Closure, Green Bay, WI BASE CONTRACT- The material at Renard Island is previously dredged material that contains low to moderate levels of Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB). Additional chemical data regarding the contaminated soils is available upon request. Renard Island was used as a disposal facility for dredged materials until 1997. The ability of the previously dredged material contained in Bayport and Renard Island to support a specific type or size of equipment is unknown. The contractor shall construct roads and structures as necessary to complete the work which will be incidental to earthwork. The Government anticipates that work will need to occur during the winter months when the soil materials at Renard Island and Bayport CDF Cell 7 are stiffened from cold temperature. Base Contract work for Final Closure of the Renard Island Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) includes but is not limited to the mobilization, clearing and grubbing and site preparation at the Bayport Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) Cell 7 and Renard Island, excavation, hauling, and placement of sediment from Bayport CDF Cell 7 at Renard Island, per bid schedule. The base Contract also includes abandonment of the existing steel offloading pipe and steel sheet pile cellular weir structures. OPTION 1 - The temporary causeway that provides access to Renard Island from Green Bay shall be removed. The stone material from the removed portion of the temporary causeway shall be properly disposed of by the contractor. OPTION 2 - An additional six (6) inches of cover material will be placed over the entire Renard Island. All fill material for cover shall come from Bayport CDF Cell 7 and be above the minimum allowable excavation elevation, shown on the plans.
