Description
THIS SYNOPSIS will remain posted for 15 days, at which time the full RFP will be posted with information regarding the requirement, the site visit and all other pertinent dates. Please do not submit questions to the POC until after you have reviewed the entire RFP. Synopsis: The solicitation will be for Food Services for the Department of Education in Washington DC. The Contractor shall establish and operate the food service facilities described herein for the purpose of dispensing food, nonalcoholic beverages, supporting catering events as requested and such other items as may be authorized by the contracting officer (CO) in accordance with the terms and conditions of this contract. This cafeteria is to be operated for the benefit of approximately 1,180 building occupants at the Lyndon Baines Johnson building. In addition the Department of Education has approximately 665 employees that work in the Mary E. Switzer building located at 330 C Street, SW (walking distance of one block). The Mary E. Switzer building has a Randolph Sheppard snack bar on first floor and vending. The ED building has an average of approximately 100 visitors during the day that attend short seminars, on-site meetings and other functions. These visitors have access to the cafeteria but may not necessary "overlap" the breakfast or lunch period. The building is open to Government employees that have a valid ID. Historically, a large number of Government workers with valid ID visit the ED to have breakfast and lunch. The Agency estimates twenty-five percent (25%) of the federal employees listed above telework on a fixed schedule a minimum of one or two days each week, and that twenty-seven percent (27%) of the federal employees listed above work a compressed alternate work schedule (AWS). Compressed AWS schedules provide employees one day off (typically a Monday or Friday) every two weeks. Government shall not be held responsible for any variation from this employee population figure since the extent of occupancy is not guaranteed
