Description

This is a presolicitation notice, not a request for competitive proposals. Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, 510 E. Stoner Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71110 intends to make a sole source award to Omnicell Technologies, Inc., for Pandora VIA Pharmacy Software. This announcement constitutes the only notice issued; a separate written solicitation will NOT be issued. Omnicell Technologies, Inc. is a large business that has been identified as the sole manufacturer and distributor of Pandora VIA Pharmacy Software. Pandora is the only system on the market that converts data for Pyxis, Omnicell, and Accudose ADM's to SQL database, and is programmed to utilized long term utilization patterns to detect potential diversion of controlled substances and/or other medications at risk for diversion. It is specifically designed for that purpose; it also provides long term use analysis for inventory control and stock levels. As such, the contractor is the identified company qualified to satisfy the Government with the required supplies or services for this requirement. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. The solicitation is to be issued as a Sole Source under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 511210. The size standard is $35.5 Million. This information is only used for classification purposes. The Government will consider all responses, to include: capability statements, proposals, or quotations, to this notice by 12:00 PM (CST) August 23, 2013. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
