Description
COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION DOCUMENT GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Request a complete in water, underwater hull cleaning from the waterline down and to include 3 transducers, 2 main shafts, 2 rudders, 2 sea chests and associated grating, bow thruster tunnel and associated grating and polish two, 4 bladed main propellers and one, 4 bladed bow thruster propellers. Keeping the hull and propeller surfaces smooth improve speed and distance to be gained per barrel of fuel burned by the reduction of fuel consumption needed to overcome hydrodynamic resistance (friction), unclogging fouled suction grates improves the flow of water to internal machinery and reduces pump wear and finally cleaning the hull will lengthen the effective life of the anti-foulant and reducing the likelihood of external hull corrosion and pitting caused by marine growth. Inspect all sacrificial zinc anodes and replace as necessary. Hull is coated with a five (5) part anti-fouling system that was applied in May of 2011. The bottom has not been cleaned since.
