Description
This is a synopsis for a commercial acquisition using contracting by negotiation. (Reference FAR Parts 12 and 13). THIS IS A SYNOPSIS AS REQUIRED BY FAR PART 5.2 - THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE/PROPOSAL. VENDORS SHOULD NOT SUBMIT FORMAL QUOTES/PROPOSALS UNTIL THE RFP IS POSTED TO THIS WEBSITE. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. The 409th CSB, RCO Stuttgart anticipates a requirement for USAFRICOM, Stuttgart. This is for the procurement, delivery, and installation of a translation system. System shall include microprocessor based control units, with 3 microphone interrupt ability modes, up to 8 microphones open at one time, auto-off, scrambled audio to avoid eavesdropping and 4 interpreter channels. There will be two 32-channel interpreter units, fully digital, portable and compliant to international standards. Four light-weight professional interpreter headsets, 50 digital microcomputer controlled conference units with built-in loudspeakers, 110 sets of mono headphones, gooseneck microphones, and two soundproof, transportable interpreter booths and all supporting cabling and connections. Installation, testing and operator instruction will be included. Storage and transportation cases will be included. Anticipated award date is 27 August 2013. This is an unrestricted full and open competitive acquisition. The government intends to make a single award to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offeror. Solicitation No: W91WFU-13-T-0011 will be issued as a Request for Proposal. It is advertised with a North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 334310. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. Potential offerors must be registered in the SAM at www.sam.gov Payment for this acquisition will be made through the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) System. Contractors must be registered in WAWF to include German vendors, see internet site: https://wawf.eb.mil for registration. Information concerning this solicitation will be issued electronically and posted on or about 8 August 2013 at www.fbo.gov. Proposals may be submitted via hard copy, or e-mail.
