- This is a notice of intent to proceed with a sole source requirement with the City of Long Beach for the destruction of contraband. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice is being provided per FAR 5.201(b)(1)(i) and 5.207(c)(15) and (16). Market research has found no other manufacturer which can provide the volume of services required in the Long Beach area. Vendors that believe they can meet these requirements may respond to this notice. The response should contain a brief description of the vendor's capabilities and a description of the facility. If the response suggests a qualified vendor, a competitive Request for Quotes (RFQ) may be issued. The determination to compete or not compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is at the Government's discretion. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any vendor who wishes to submit information for this requirement should email their capability information to the attention of Nathan Briggs at nathan.briggs@dhs.gov. Submission must be received no later than 5:00 ET, August 9, 2013. Only email responses will be accepted.
