Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Health Care System (VAHCS), located in Iowa City, Iowa intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to The University of Iowa for research and data collection services upon the basis of the authority provided in 41 U.S.C. 253(c) and implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Special medical study consultation services will be used to support Project NEPH-028-12S, Epithelial Sodium Channel Trafficking and will include the development, implementation, and reporting under NAICS 611310 in the aggregate value of $51,097.00. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. Interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by 10:00 AM CST, August 14, 2013, by e-mail to john.becker3@va.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
