- Description
- The National Institutes of Health intends to award a sole source acquisition to SimplexGrinnell, 50 Technology Drive, Westminster, MA 01441, to perform system modifications of the existing SimplexGrinnell Fire Protection System on the NIEHS campus in areas that do not currently meet NFPA Code as well as replace any current sprinkler heads that may be defective and have the potential to inadvertently activate. The SimplexGrinnell Fire Protection System is proprietary and as such SimplexGrinnell is the only company that is capable of performing the system modifications. In accordance with FAR 8.405-6, SimplexGrinnell is the only known responsible source capable of providing the required services at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may provide their capabilities in meeting the specific requirement identified above. All responses shall be emailed to Daniel F. Burk at daniel.burk@nih.gov are due by close of business 08/15/2013. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
