- This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of a Request for Proposal to acquire the supply, installation and testing of electronic components for the newly designed Dispersal Barrier I located at the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal Dispersal Barrier Project site. PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract set, the Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, equipment, and materials to supply and install a pulse generating system for the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal Permanent Barrier I in Romeoville, IL. Under the proposed contract, all work, including delivery, installation of the components, and system testing, will be completed by September 30, 2016. ACQUISTION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS*. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System Code 423690, which applies a small business size standard of 500 Employees. In order for contractors to be awarded contracts with this agency, the contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM); registration can be completed free of charge by accessing https://www.sam.gov. The Government intends to award a time and materials contract from this acquisition. FAXED OR ELECTRONIC PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Request for Proposal (RFP) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated, and/or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the RFP Package from this Internet Site, https://www.fbo.gov. The RFP will be available at this Internet site (www.fbo.gov) on 26 August 2013. Proposals will be due by 4:30pm CDT on 24 September 2013. Please be advised that in the case of a discrepancy between the dates/times published in this notice and those called out in the RFP document, the dates/times in the RFP document overrides those published hereunder this notice; this is relative to the RFP issuance date and the due date & time for Proposals.
