- This is Sources Sought (SS) Notice only. This is not a request for proposal. There is no solicitation available at this time. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this SS, nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. The SS does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Any information provided in response to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only and will not be released. Any proprietary information submitted will be protected if appropriately marked. Vendor participation is not a promise of future business with the Government. The purpose of this SS is to conduct market research to determine an acquisition strategy for establishment of a regulated medical waste disposal service for VA Northern Indiana Health Care System (VANIHCS). VANIHCS is conducting market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), Hubzone Small Businesses, or Woman Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), 8(a) firms capable of performing the requirements to warrant a solicitation set-aside. The proposed solicitation is for establishment of a regulated medical waste at VANIHCS campuses in Fort Wayne and Marion, Indiana and at the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Muncie and Peru, Indiana. Contractor shall provide biohazard containers and scheduled pick-up and disposal of regulated medical waste. Estimated solicitation issue date is on or around August22, 2013 with an estimated award date of October 1, 2013. The intended contact base period is anticipated to be one base year with four one-year option periods. Responses to this notice shall be e-mailed to Nikki Horther at nikki.horther@va.gov or faxed to 260-460-1335. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses shall be received in writing no later than 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Responses shall include 1) Company Name, 2) Address, 3) Point of contact, 4) Phone number, 5) Fax Number, 6) E-mail address, 7) Socio-economic status) and 8) DUNS.
