Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7, intends to negotiate a one year sole-source contract with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), Department of Pathology, 171 Ashley Ave, Charleston, SC 29425-8908, on or around August26, 2013 to provide "Development of S-Nitrosothiol-Based Therapy for Alzheimer's Disease" at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. A qualified researcher from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Pathology will serve as a Research Assistant Professor and will work closely with the Principal Investigator for the titled project. The researcher will perform the following duties: "Design of study "Drug treatment "Data storage "Data analysis "Publication of data This project is expected to be approximately one year in duration. The proposed contractor possesses unique qualifications that require the use of the authority below. The Department of Pathology is experienced with the requirements necessary to successfully complete the requested work. NAICS Code: 621511 Medical Laboratories (Size Standard $30 Million). This proposed procurement is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than Aug 15, 2013, 2 p.m. EDT. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
