- AMENDMENT NO. 0001 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eastern Logistics Service Area, College Park, Georgia has a requirement for Construction/Installation of One Precast Concrete Equipment Shelter, Four 50 Ft. Freestanding Antenna Towers and Installation of Cables at the Remote Transmitter (RT), Atlantic City, New Jersey. This solicitation is being amended to provide questions and answers as listed below: Question 1: Are the obstruction lights GFM? Answer 1: Yes. Two obstruction lights will be GFM. Question 2: Also, there seems to be no mounting details that we can see. Can you provide? Answer 2: Detail 7/E003 and 8/E003 shows the 3/4 inch rigid galvanized steel conduit going up towers 2 and 3. The Ob light will extend 12 inches above the hand rail at the top of the tower. The obstruction conduits can be installed in the same ductbanks going back to the shelter and enter the building at the same location as the 4" conduits. FAA will connect to the panelboard inside the GFM shelter. Question 3: In the project specifications in section 1-1 Summary of Work under 1-1.2 Scope it states "The removal of the old antenna towers is the construction contractor responsibility, but shall be bid as a separate line item." There is no mention of demolition of the existing CMU structure. On the "Schedule of Bid Items" at the bottom the "Note: Removal of the concrete masonry block building and the four antenna towers will be bid under another contract" Please confirm if we should include the removal of these items in our bid? or if you want a separate cost for this work? Answer 3: Bid the ACY RT as written. The demo work will be bid in early 2014. This requirement is solely set-aside for Pre-existing/Qualifying Contractors under the Eastern Logistics Service Area Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) for General Construction. Solicitation Due Date: 8/14/2013 @ 3:00pm local time (Eastern Standard Time) Performance Time: 120 calendar days. Construction Price Range: $150,000.00 to $250,000.00.
