- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, (NSWCCD) has a requirement for the procurement of an Electromagnetic Induction Heating System to support welding operations. The proposed contract action is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Miller Electric Mfg. Co. of Appleton, WI. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The reasons for restricting competition are as follows: the Miller Proheat 35 induction heating equipment can provide electromagnetic induction where eddy currents are generated within the metal. This feature of induction heating will provide welding preheat and post-welding cooling insuring heating and cooling rates are not compromised during the welding operation. The NAICS code is 333992 and the size standard is 750 employees. Interested parties may identify their interest to respond to the requirement by submitting a capabilities statement. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within 15 days of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties may forward their capabilities statement to patricia perzella by e-mail at patricia.perzella@navy.mil
