REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND SOURCES SOUGHT The purpose of this announcement is to request information and seek sources that can provide the performance based services outlined in the attached Statement of Work. The Fire Protection services required by the US government are to be performed at FOB Apache, Afghanistan. In order to better communicate the US Government's intentions, we ask that Industry provide input to the following questions: How should the Contract Line Item Numbers be structured? How would Industry price their proposals? Is enough information provided in the Statement of Work to fully understand the requirement? How can you prove that employees have the skills or training to perform fire protection services? Are there local standards or certifications that show the skill levels of employees: for example, Station Chief, Crew Chief, Firefighter, etc? What country would the employees be coming from, and do they have the appropriate international fire safety certifications. How much time would be needed to mobilize personnel and equipment to FOB Apache, Afghanistan? Do you follow all of the standards found in Section 3 of the Statement of Work? If no, what standards are not followed, and why they are not (i.e. not relevant, outdated, etc.) How many people would be employed to meet this 24/7 requirement. What questions or concerns does Industry have about this requirement? This contract is anticipated for 1-year. Do you foresee a problem with mobilization time vs. time period of contract? Additionally, please submit your company's profile if interested in this requirement. NOTE: This is not a Request for Proposal. It is strictly for market research. DUE DATE FOR ANSWERS IS 18 AUGUST 2013. THE POINT OF CONTACT FOR THIS MATTER IS NEIL BELDEN, EMAIL NEIL.BELDEN@AFGHAN.SWA.ARMY.MIL
