- Description
- TITLE: FA4809-13-Q-0012, Sole Source Acquisition for the purchase of CM 300 Series Radios The 4th Contracting Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC intends to award a sole source purchase order to General Dynamics C4 Systems. Required items to be purchased are: Two (2) CM-300 Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio transmitters, three (3) CM-300 UHF Radio receivers, and of one (1) CM-350 Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio transmitters, currently used at the 4th Operation Support Squadron for the AF Dare County Bombing Range, Stumpy Point, NC APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY: This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The current primary radios in use at the AF Dare County Range are CM300 Series. The range is already in possession of the necessary support equipment and software to operate and maintain these systems, therefore it is most cost effective to acquire additional UHF radios that do not require new support equipment and software. The new CM300 radios will serve two functions by replacing the existing obsolete back-up radios which are no longer maintainable as well as serving as spare radios in the event the primary systems are disabled by unforeseen circumstances (i.e. lightning strike, power surge, etc.). The existing CM300 radios have proven to be very reliable and to provide the transmission power necessary to communicate with user aircraft distant from the range proper thus improving safe range training operations. Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. The closing date for this synopsis is 20 August 13 at 04:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. The anticipated award date is 27August 12. For information regarding this purchase, please contact SSgt Charlton C. Mason at: charlton.mason@us.af.mil or 2LT Jessica D'Ambrosio at: jessica.dambrosio.2@us.af.mil
