Description
This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to determine interest and capability of potential contractors. The Department of Veterans Affairs Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (VAMC), Chicago, IL, is seeking sources of 3-D gait analysis equipment which can meet the requirements listed below. Requirements: The VAMC requires gait analysis equipment which does the following: "Records, analyzes, and archives in 3-D. "Captures data from at least 28 markers at 200Hz and 56 markers at 100Hz. "Maintains a resolution of better than 0.05 mm in the transverse (X-Z) plane at 3m distance from the nearest unit when sampled at a rate of 800Hz. "Maintains a resolution of better than 0.4mm along the Y axis (distance from the sensor unit). "Sensor field of view must be no less than 75 degrees and each sensor must be capable of measuring a 3D position even when the market is hidden from all the other sensors (camera). "Every marker must have its own unique identity; the system does not rely upon post-processing to distinguish between the assorted markers or rely upon previous trajectories of the marker to re-establish marker identity after occlusions. "Markers must be rapidly rechargeable. "Can be setup in less than one hour. "Consists of an EMG system, two force plates, sensors, a portable walkway, laptop and associated software. All interested sources are requested to submit an email delineating contractor's capabilities, technical specifications, and a brief statement of how they would meet VA's requirement. This is not an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submittals will not be returned to the sender. Responses shall be submitted via email to chad.turner@va.gov no later than 4:00 pm CST on August 16, 2013. When responding please include RFI number VA69D-13-I-1902 on the subject line.
