- This is a Small Business Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The National Institute of Standards and Technology is conducting market research to determine small business capability to provide the following equipment: One erbium-doped optical fiber amplifier with 1 Watt output, 19" rack enclosure, and control electronics. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: • 1 Watt, 30 dBm output level • Random polarization • Single frequency input laser • Meet all specs across 1540 to 1565 nm range • Input power 0 dBm to 6 dBm • <6.5 dB noise figure • >30 dB input and output isolation • Input/output patchcords with 1.5 m length and FC/APC connectors • 110 V AC operation, air cooled only • Constant current and constant output power operating modes • 19" rack mount enclosure • GPIB computer interface • Full operation via front panel controls The applicable NAICS code is 334516 and associated size standard is 500 employees. Qualified small businesses are encouraged to respond to this sources sought by providing the following information to Robert.brackett@nist.gov -- (1) Company name and DUNS number. (2) Documentation sufficient to demonstrate your company's ability to provide the required equipment. All responses are due no later than 5:00 PM MDT, Sunday, August 18, 2013. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible.
