Description

The Department of the Air Force, intends to negotiate a firm fixed price requirements-type contract, on a sole source basis, with Chromalloy Component Services, Inc. of Windsor, Connecticut,for the purchase of the following services: the contractor shall provide all labor, tools, facilities, test equipment, transportation, shipping, materials, and other incidentals necessary to provide a heat treatment (rubber burn-out) repair services for Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) Cases, a component of the TF-33 Aircraft Engine, in accordance with the attached performance work statement and related attachments. The authority for this action is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(B) for other than full and open competition. There is only one responsible source known and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. No other qualified vendor is known to be capable of satisfying this requirement for the Air Force at this time. Companies interested in performing heat-treating service shall follow the Repair Qualification Requirements (RQR) and Source Approval Request (SAR) approval procedures to be approved as a suitable source of repair for the subject part. The qualification document is RQR-PSD2. SAR information may be found under FBO Reference Number: 2840004427112 and/or Reference Number 2840011679584. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 336412, and the size standard is 1000 employees. The Federal Supply Class/Service Code is J016. No set-aside status currently applies to this acquisition. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider responses received by 9:00 a.m. (Tinker AFB, OK) on 29 Aug 13. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to joshua.huckeby@tinker.af.mil. No telephone requests will be honored. The anticipated award date for this acquisition is 1 Oct 13. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
