- Description
- The Government is conducting market research for a new solicitation(s) to restart production to increase inventory of the MK 48 MOD 7 Warshot Torpedo. In September 2012, the Government released N00024-13-R-6401, Request For Information, to gather Industry's feedback to help shape the Government's acquisition approach for this procurement. In an effort to further develop the Government's acquisition approach, the Government will host an Industry Day in Newport, RI, at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Newport on 19 September 2013. Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Contracts Directorate (SEA02) along with the Program Executive Office Submarines (PEO-SUB), Undersea Weapons Program Office (PMS 404), will host an unclassified MK 48 MOD 7 Heavyweight Torpedo Industry Day to discuss the MK 48 Torpedo Program to allow industry (1) to more fully understand the proposed acquisition and acquisition approach and (2) to solicit Industry feedback on the Government's plans. The meeting will also present potential Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), Government Furnished Information (GFI) and facilities that could be leveraged to facilitate contractor testing. The event will be held at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, in Newport, RI, on 19 September 2013 from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM EDT. To receive registration instructions, email your request including your company address by the deadline of 4 September 2013 at 4:30 PM EDT to Darlene Cooper at darlene.cooper@navy.mil. The registration form must be submitted by 9 September 2013 at 4:30 PM EDT. These deadlines are firm. No exceptions will be made. If you do not receive the registration instructions within five business days of your request, please re-send your request. Attendance is limited to 3 representatives from each company. Industry Day attendees must be U.S. citizens or foreign nationals working for U.S.-owned companies or the Department of Defense. During Industry Day, the Government will not respond to verbal questions except in clarification of presentation material. All questions may be submitted to the Government at Industry Day in writing and the Government will respond to questions after completion of Industry Day to ensure a complete response is provided. If additional questions arise after Industry Day, questions may be emailed to Roxie Thomas ( roxie.thomas@navy.mil ), courtesy copy Reneé Brooks (renee.brooks@navy.mil). Questions received by 23 September 2013 will be posted by 15 October 2013 along with their associated answers, meeting presentations, and attendee roster via a follow-up Federal Business Opportunities ( www.fbo.gov ) and Navy Electronic Commerce Online (www.neco.navy.mil) announcement.
