Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7, intends to award a one year, and four (4) option years, sole-source contract for preventative maintenance and replacement parts for the mobile MRI trailer utilized at the Beaufort Naval Hospital, located in Beaufort, SC. The contractor supporting the Mobile MRI Trailer for items GE MR 1.5T 843228MR & 843228MRC shall provide: a.Remedial Maintenance: i.Vendor shall provide remedial maintenance service on the GE equipment when requested by the VA Biomedical Engineering Department and unlimited phone support for VA Biomedical Engineering. b.Replacement Parts: i.Vendor shall supply at its own expense, necessary parts, provided replacement of the parts is required because of normal wear and tear or otherwise deemed necessary by vendor and VA. All Parts will be new, standard parts, or used, reworked or refurbished parts that comply with applicable performance and reliability specifications. c.Specialty Items: i.Vendor shall provide complete maintenance on all GE supplied coils. ii.Magnet cryogens and magnet cooling systems are covered for all labor and replacement service cost and will monitor conditions 24/7 remotely. It is believed, General Electric Medical Systems is the only source of the advanced service software necessary to expedite the support services required to maintain this equipment and decrease any impact to patient care from extended down time. General Electric Medical Systems provides 24/7 remote monitoring of health of the system as well as 24/7 telephone technical support and parts ordering. This service greatly increases up time of the system for patient care and reduces the need for fee base of patients by early notification of service issues. It is believed that there is no comparable product on the market. NAICS Code: 334510 Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing (Size Standard 500 Employees) This proposed procurement is for services for which the government intends to solicit and award with only one source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than August 23, 2013, 4 p.m. EDT. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
