- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center proposes to acquire, under single source procedures, tower modification kits to complete the installation of the modification at the ARSR-4 long range radar facilities. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced based on; Valmont Industries is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the tower modification kits. The OEM maintains a complete set of component fabrication shop drawings and specifications for these kits. The OEM replacement components meet all the form fit and function requirements of the existing structure. This announcement is for informational purposes only and not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. This requirement will be awarded to Valmont Industries Inc. and is not available for full and open competition.
