Description

This amendment is to correct the error in previous Combine Synopsis/Solicitation (VA250-13-R-0436) which was posted on August 20, 2013, which did not have the solicitation (1449) attached to it. The solicitation (VA250-13-R-0436) which was posted August 19, 2013, stated that "THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. A SUBSEQUENT SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY FOLLOW. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO ANY FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT. This is in fact the solicitation and the 1449 solicitation is attached to it is on the right hand side of the solicitation. Please use this document when responding to VA250-13-R-0436 - Intensive Outpatient Program Beds (IOP) for Stark County, Ohio only. Please see read the following statement CAREFULLY. The Louis Stokes Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (LSDVAMC), Cleveland, Ohio 44106 anticipates award of an indefinite quantity FIRM FIXED PRICE contract. The purpose of this contract is to engage a community provider (Contractor) who will provide community-based, residential environments, providing sufficient services to meet the needs of the Veterans while they undergoing Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Substance Abuse treatment at local VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC). Entities that are interested in providing Veterans these services should be aware that this contract seeks to provide services and housing in the area of Stark County of Ohio only. The Contractor shall provide housing, to include, but not necessarily limited to beds, restroom, bath and kitchen facilities and related furnishings. The Contractor shall provide food for a minimum of two balanced meals daily and snacks daily to each resident. The Contractor shall provide personal hygiene items and storage as needed. The primary goal is to develop alternative housing for the Veterans and to prepare them for independent living. It is the ultimate goal that these Veterans will eventually find their way to housing located within the community. Through this announcement, the VA seeks to support Veterans served by IOP by expediting placement of these Veterans into safe, supportive housing. This housing must meet the criteria established both by IOP clinical staff and VA fire and safety officials in addition to the local city, county and state regulations.
