- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard has a requirement for a five-year multi-option option drydock maintenance repair contract for CGC POLAR STAR (WAGB-10). CGC POLAR STAR is a 399-foot icebreaker homeported in Seattle, WA. The solicitation will be issued as a best value procurement using full and open competitive procedures. Place of performance: Contractor's facility Geographical Restriction: West Coast of the U.S. The contract will include a base requirement and four options for contractor planning (engineering, long lead time material identification, scheduling, specification development) and five options for execution of drydock repair availabilities. The contract will also include an option item for emergency drydockings. Base period of performance is November 1, 2013 - April 15, 2014. The type of drydock ship repairs will include, but is not limited to, the following: Hull Plating, (U/W), Inspect; Hull Plating, (U/W Body), Ultrasonic Testing; Appendages and Voids (U/W), Leak Test; Appendages and Voids (U/W) - Internal, Preserve; Tanks (MP Fuel Stowage and Overflow), Clean and Inspect; Tanks (Ballast), Clean and Inspect; Voids (Accessible), Clean and Inspect; Centerline Propulsion Shafting and Propeller Removal and Reinstallation; Port Propulsion Shafting and Propeller Removal and Reinstallation; Starboard Propulsion Shafting and Propeller Removal and Reinstallation; Propulsion Shaft Seal; Clean, Inspect, and Overhaul; Propulsion Shaft Coating, Inspect; Shaft Handling Equipment, Preventative Maintenance; Propulsion Shaft Bearings, Check Clearances; Propulsion Shaft Bearing Housings (External), Inspect and Repair; Centerline Propeller Renewal; Port Propeller Renewal; Starboard Propeller Renewal; Centerline Shaft OD box, Open, Clean, Inspect and Report; Port Shaft OD Box, Open, Clean, Inspect and Report; Starboard Shaft OD Box, Open, Clean, Inspect and Report; Sea Strainers (Hayward) Open, Clean and Inspect; Sea Valves and Waster Pieces, Overhaul or Renew; Rudder and Rudder Stock Removal and Inspection; Rudder Trunk Void, Preserve 100%; Sea Strainer and Transducer Compartments, Preserve 100%; Cathodic Protection/Zinc Anodes, Renew; U/W Body, Preserve (100%); Hull Plating Freeboard, Preserve (100%); Drydocking, Provide; Temporary Services, Provide; Sea Trial Performance, Provide Support; Firewatches, Provide.
