Description
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT AND NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC 27709, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Fisher Scientific, Hanover Park, IL 60133 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for Catalog # RHS6037 GIPZ Human Whole Genome SHRNA, Quantity of 1 each and Catalog # RMM5829 GIPZ Mouse Whole Genome SHRNA, Quantity of 1 each. The GPIZ shRNA libraries offer the following: 1) Increased specificity and less toxicity; 2) use TurboGFP to mark cells expressing shRNA; 3) Efficient low copy knowdown; 4) Provide genome-wide human (96331 shRNAs) and mouse (101384 shRNAs) coverage; 5) Efficient RNAi in different cell types, including primary and non-dividing cells; 6) provide guaranteed knockdown: One out of three GIPZ Lentiviral shRNA is guaranteed to produce gene knockdown by > 70% at the mRNA level; 7) Provide a renewal source to be shared; 8) Easily be cloned into doxycycline-inducible vectors with fluorescence reporters to achieve inducible and trackable gene silencing for lineage-tracing or genetic mosaic studies. The GIPZ lentiviral shRNA libraries must be provided in 96-well microtiter plates containing frozen E.coli stocks of individual shRNA constructs. These items are required for on-going research projects. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 4 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 4 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Fisher Scientific. The NAICS Code/Size is 325998/500 Employees. This procurement is to be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items.
