Description
ACV Needs Statement ACV Needs Statement Synopsis USMC Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) Needs Statement The Department of Defense, Rapid Reaction Technology Office (RRTO) Innovation Outreach Program will conduct a Solutions Meeting in the Washington, DC area in the October/November timeframe. The workshop provides selected innovative companies with an opportunity to make short technical presentations to government representatives about their technologies and products. There is a potential for companies to be selected for pilot projects or experimentation if their technology appears to match USMC Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) needs. RRTO is supporting the Marine Corps System Command in their search for innovative technologies and capabilities that address technical and programmatic challenges in developing the ACV. The operational objective is to field an amphibious combat vehicle that provides high-speed deployment from the sea as well as land maneuver capabilities. The programmatic objective is to develop an ACV that is affordable during development, production and throughout its operational life. At this stage, the ACV program seeks new or innovative technologies and products that could have significant impact on the program in the following areas: 1.Power 2.Performance on the Water 3.Materials 4.Crew Optimization 5.Design and Operational Support Specific needs are contained in the attached file: USMC ACV Needs Statement. Companies interested in participating in the Solutions Meeting should submit an application to RRTO via e-mail at osd.pentagon.ousd-atl.mbx.rrto-innovation@mail.mil. The following information is required in the application: 1.Company name 2.Website address 3.POC, email, phone number and an alternate POC if desired 4.A succinct description (less than 200 words in length) of the company's technologies, products and capabilities including a mapping to the topic areas and needs addressed For background purposes, the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) video shows the operating environment and characteristics of a high water speed amphibious vehicle (www.youtube.com/watch?v=qa1wt8BfuuA). All applications must be received on or before 5:00 PM EDT, September 4, 2013. Selected companies will be responsible for their travel and all other expenses associated with participation in the Solutions Meeting to be held in the Washington, DC area.
