- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Minimum Essential Characteristics GPS Minimum Specifications: 1.One GPS unit is required with the following specifications: a.Must have the same programming and output as existing USAARL unit (RaceLogic Vbox 20Hz speed sensor) in order to make them interchangeable during testing without delay in data acquisition settings and connections. b.Must be capable of the following measurements at a minimum: i.Velocity: a maximum of 0.1 km/h accuracy, minimum update rate of 20 Hz, and a range no less than 1 to 200 mph ii.Absolute Positioning: a minimum update rate of 20 Hz iii.Heading: accurate to less than 0.2 degrees iv.Trigger activation v.Distance: a maximum of 0.05% accuracy and minimum update rate of 20 Hz vi.Time vii.Acceleration: a maximum of 0.50% accuracy, a minimum range of 0 to 20 G, and a minimum update rate of 20 Hz c.Must have, but is not limited to, the following outputs: i.CAN bus: retrievable data includes position, vehicle speed, heading, acceleration, time, altitude, trigger to zero distance, trigger time, and trigger speed ii.RS232 iii.Analogue: retrievable data includes speed and acceleration iv.Digital: retrievable data includes speed d.Must use 6.5v - 30v DC to power e.Must have LED indicator lights for power and event trigger at a minimum f.Must be small (maximum 6in x 5in x 3in) g.Must be lightweight: less than 1 lb h.Must be semi-rugged (water resistant and dust resistant) for rough vehicle and terrain environments i.Must have a GPS antenna j.Must have a user manual, software CD, and interface cable k.Must have at least one year hardware support l.Must have a minimum of 5 years software support, available by phone and email and includes software/firmware upgrades. Long term is support is required in order to maintain compatibility with computer operating system upgrades regulated by Army policy.
