Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Ixia, to provide software maintenance services, for an Ixia Network Test chassis currently in use at the Intelligent Systems Division at NIST. Sole Source determination is based on the need to purchase software maintenance for an Ixia Test Model XM2 Network Test Chassis with IXOS operating system. The XM2 hardware and associated software is proprietary to Ixia, and they are the only vendor capable in providing the required software maintenance. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 511210, and the size standard is $35.5M. ******A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, responses received by August 30, 2013, 8:00 a.m., EST will be considered by the Government.
