Description

Middle Fork Lumber Supply Solicitation This solicitation is for the Middle Fork Ranger District, Salmon-Challis National Forest lumber supply. Lumber shall be bundled according to dimension with dimensions and grade clearly marked on each bundle. All timbers shall be Coastal Region Douglas Fir, rough sawn, No. 1 grade, treated. Grading Rules Agency WWPA, WCLIB. All lumber shall be treated in accordance with AWPA U1-08 with copper napthenate or pentachlorophenol. The minimum preservative retentions shall conform to AWPA use category UC4B ground contact or fresh water for coastal douglas fir. All materials shall be in compliance with the current edition of WWPI's "Best Management Practices for the Use of Wood in Aquatic Environments." Lumber shall be cut to specified dimensions prior to treatment. All lumber shall be certified for grade and species. Width and height shall be within 1/16" of specifications over the length of the piece. Length shall be within 1/8" of specifications. Ends shall be cut at a 90° angle. Warp shall be less than 1/16" per foot of length. Twist shall be less than 1° difference from end to end.
