- The purpose of this amendment is to correct a typographical error in item number two of the specifications. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to procure a Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Engine Lathe for its Office of Research and Development in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The minimum specifications for the CNC Lathe are as follows: 1. Totally Enclosed, Minimum 18 inch Swing Over Bed with Manual Tail Stock 2. 8-station Bi-Directional Turret, 0.75 inch Tooling 3. Flood Coolant System 4. Electronic Tool Setter 5. Conversational Programming 6. 60 inch Center Distance 7. Minimum 3.5 inch Spindle Bore, 2 Speed Headstock, 15 HP Minimum Motor 8. High Speed Network Interface 9. 208 Volt, 3 Phase Power 10. Delivery Time 60 Days from Receipt of Order 11. Minimum 2 year warranty 12. Installation, Set-up, and Training Included 13. Comprehensive Software Operation and Repair Manual The CNC Lathe is considered a commercial item as defined by FAR part 12 and shall be shipped to Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The EPA shall set aside this procurement for small businesses. It is anticipated that the request for quotation will be posted on or about Friday, September 6, 2013 on the World Wide Web through the following website: www.fedconnect.net. It is the responsibility of the offerors to monitor the Fedconnect website for changes or updates. No hard copies will be available. All responsible small business sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency. This acquisition is subject to the Buy American Act-Free Trade Agreements-Israeli Trade Act. Anticipated award date will be in late September 2013.
