- Description
- NASA Goddard Space Flight Center has a requirment for the fabrication of a flat uncoated round mirror that, after being coated with multi-layers, will be used for deflecting an EUV (13.5 nm wavelength) beam. The mirror must meet the following requirements:
1.Material must be fused silica or other low CTE (less than 0.5 ppm at room temperature) materials, such as Zerodur, ULE, etc. 2.The mirror should be nominally 50mm in thickness and 300mm in diameter with beveled edges to prevent chipping. 3.One side should be inspection polished to a flatness of a few m to facilitate mounting. 4.The other side, i.e., the mirror side, must have a clear aperture at least 250mm in diameter. Within the clear aperture, the figure and roughness of the mirror surface must meet the requirements as tabulated in the following table, measured along any straight line
Measuring Instrument: AFM or equivalent Spatial Frequency: 0.5 m-1 50 m-1 Spatial Wavelength: 20 nm 2 m Roughness (RMS ) or Slope (RMS rad): < 4
Measuring Instrument: Zygo NewView profilometer or equivalent Spatial Frequency:0.001 m-1 0.5 m-1 Spatial Wavelength: 2 m 1000 m Roughness (RMS ) or Slope (RMS rad): < 4
Measuring Instrument: Fizeau interferometer or Slope-meauring long trace profilometer or equivalent Spatial Frequency: 0.004 mm-1 1 mm-1 Spatial Wavelength: 1 mm 250 mm Roughness (RMS ) or Slope (RMS rad): < 1 rad (slope) < 10 nm (roughness)
This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.
Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing via e-mail no later than August 28, 2013. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this action. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any).
NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. This installations Ombudsman is Nance Abell, nancy.abell@nasa.gov.
