- Description
- This is a notice of the Government's intent to award a sole source small business set-aside contract to S. & G. Enterprises, Inc to procure hazardous waste and recycling equipment, Enhanced Vyleater Plastic Vial Shredder and Liquid Separator, Model II-SE, for the Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratory at Fort Meade, Maryland. The Enhanced Vyleater Plastic Vial Shredder and Liquid Separator, Model II-SE with automated feeder and flush options is an industrial quality 2-shaft shredder with a stainless steel loading and separating vibratory conveyor, 12 (course) and 30 (fine) mesh separating screens, flexible nylon fume solids discharge sleeve, polypropylene liquid drain hose, 250-CFM exhaust blower, 2-part epoxy primer & corrosion-resistant paint, stainless steel fasteners, 3-HP shredder TEFC motor, 1/3-HP Conveyor/Blower TEFC motor, and a dust tight NEMA 12 control enclosure with 115V pushbutton control. The flush option includes a basic 3-jet conveyor, 1-jet hopper flush system with pressure regulator, central ball valve ON/OFF control, and a metering pump with toggle ON/OFF control. The Automated feeder option includes a stainless steel floor mounted hopper, PVC belt with variable speed controller and electrical controls interlocked with the Vyleater controls. The Vyleater Plastic Vial Shredder and Liquid Separator is engineered to dispose of plastic urinalysis samples by shredding the vials and then automatically separating the waste liquid with a specially designed stainless steel vibratory conveyor. The urine is deposited directly to a sewer line and the plastic is shred to shards small enough to effectively destroy identification labels containing social security numbers. A water-based flush system removes fluid residue and minimizes orders and/or vapors in the solid waste product. In an effort to improve ergonomics and efficiency, a self-contained feeder conveyer with hopper is included to meter the flow of material to the machine. This notice is an urgent requirement for the Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratory located at Fort Meade, Maryland. Parties interested in future announcements on this procurement shall provide detailed information of their capabilities and certifications to clearly meet the requirements stated above. Interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/. Responses(s) may be via email or on company letterhead: include company's name, point of contact, address, phone number, DUNS number, Tax ID, business size. All responses must be received by 1100 hours, 29 August 2013. Responses may be emailed to byron.w.bracey.civ@mail.mil.
