- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT AND NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC, 27709 intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Illumina, Inc., San Diego, CA 92122 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for one (1) each Part # SY-410-1003 MiSeq System. This system is required for automated generation of DNA clonal clusters by bridge amplification, sequencing, primary and secondary analysis. System includes touchscreen monitor, on-instrument computer, dual surface imaging capability, MiSeq software suite, installation kits, installation, training, and one (1) year warranty. The system must have the following capabilities: Fast turnaround at moderate throughput. The Illumina MiSeq provides 12-15 million reads per run using single end format, 24-30 million reads per run using paired end format.; Moderate throughput. The Illumina MiSeq is capable of generating up to 15 billion bases of sequence per run (2x300 bp format).; Rapid analysis of raw data without a requirement for a separate server. The Illumina Miseq features on-instrument analysis completed for all supported workflows in less than 2 hours. ; High accuracy. The Illumina Miseq features read scores greater than 90% Q>30 quality scores for 36 base single end and 25 base paired end reads, greater than 85% for 2x100 bp reads, greater than 80% for 2x150 bp reads, greater than 75% for 2x250 bp reads ; and Require that sample to data be performed in a single instrument without the use of a separate instrument for off-sequencer amplification. The Illumina Miseq generates clusters and sequences in the same instrument. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 6 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 6 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Illumina, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500 Employees. This procurement is to be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items.
