- THIS IS A SOLICITATION REVISION TO THE ORIGINAL SOLICITATION POSTED JULY 9, 2013: The US Government Printing Office (GPO) seeks other than full and open competition to award a sole source contract for Polar brand name commercial items to Heidelberg USA, 1000 Gutenberg Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30144 for the purchase of: 1-Each Polar N155-2M AT Cutter, PN: ZA3.M15522; 3-Each Extra Knife Carbide Tipped, PN: SU45ZA3274926; 1-Each Conveyor Unit, Formica 100 x 50; 1-Each Gauge Right (removable) Formica, PN: ZA3.036220; 1-Each Autotrim Conveyor System by Dorner for automatic waste removal (Conveyor Left), PN: SU45.AUTOCONVEYORRLT; 1-Each Polar Transomat, Model #RT-1EL-130-5 (unloading to the front, left side); Installation; Rigging, and Shipping. The award to Heidelberg USA will be in accordance with the format in Material Management Acquisition Regulation (MMAR) Subpart 12.6. Under the authority of USC 2304(c)(1) pursuant to MMAR 6.302.1(a)(2)(ii)(A) "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements", for this highly specialized equipment when it is likely award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. This notice is neither a request for proposals nor a solicitation of offers. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responses shall be sent to Contracting Officer, Bobbie McKoy at bmckoy@gpo.gov on or before September, 3, 2013 no later than 12:00 noon, EST.
