Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7, intends to award a one year, and four (4) option years, sole-source contract to procure Mosaic Vivarium Consulting Services at the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC from Virtual Chemistry Inc. The contractor supporting the consulting services shall provide: Researchers, vivarium managers, and vivarium staff with ongoing training and guidance required to make the most efficient use of the Mosaic Vivarium web account. Mosaic Vivarium is utilized to generate reports to help manage animal numbers, track usage/inventory and save research dollars. Vivarium managers, IACUC and veterinarians utilize Mosaic Vivarium to obtain billing and other required reporting information quickly and without paper processes. Vivarium staff is capable of using Mosaic to interface with existing barcode scanners and label printers to keep records up to date. The Mosaic Vivarium web subscription provides an electronic account for tracking the locations, type, and ownership of laboratory research animals. Animals are associated with a physical location using bar-coded cage cards. This information is then summarized and presented to researchers, vivarium managers, and vivarium staff in various formats which facilitate their respective jobs. Mosaic Vivarium helps reduce paperwork and increase vivarium accuracy. Mosaic Vivarium functions to tract the rodent breeding colony genotype/pedigree information and create reports and statistical analysis. NAICS Code: 541511; Custom Computer Programming Services (Size Standard $ 25.5m) This proposed procurement is for services for which the government intends to solicit and award with only one source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than September 4, 2013, 4 p.m. EDT. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
