Description
The Contract Support Management Office at Blount Island Command is hereby issuing a sources sought announcement in order to determine if the following requirement is to be set-aside for small business and/or issued as an open market purchase. We are interested in locating all sources, large and small, that are interested and capable of performing this work. Interested firms are to submit unequivocal statements of their interest, past performance providing similar items and services, and capability statements of meeting this requirement to Duane Chase at duane.chase@bic.mil and JoAnna Lovett-Black, Contracting Officer, at joanna.lovett-black@bic.usmc.mil no later than 1200 hours (EST) on Friday, September 6, 2013. Only email responses to this sources sought announcement will be accepted. In the event that we do not receive notification arising from this sources sought of at least two capable small (2) business firms that are interested in this procurement, we will proceed with issuing this as an unrestricted open market purchase. The Marine Corps Support Facility Blount Island Port Operations Department expects the following components to be installed on Strike Guard Ligtning Warning system on building 200 Port Operations: Strike Guard lightning detection system - sensor, receiver, 30 meter fiber, tripod, manuals, simulator Strike View software - SERVER Strike View SIMULATOR software Strike Guard extended warranty / advanced exchange Desktop Computer with keyboard, mouse and monitor Installation and required materials for Lightning warning system, software and supporting computer. Strike Guard employs state-of-the-art technology to address the most demanding lightning safety and equipment protection applications. Designed for critical applications, Strike Guard monitors cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning and provides contact-closure signaling at user-set lightning activity thresholds. Patented optical signal processing and proprietary optical-coincidence technology prevent false alarms. Strike Guard Delivers: • Fully automatic alarm triggering with user-set range categories • 20 mile detection range • No false alarms. Patented technology • Sensor and communication self-test • Sensor is battery-powered for easy installation • Durable fiber-optic communications with connector-less technology • NEMA 4X Sensor enclosure • Lightning Data Receiver with battery back-up • Optional, Strike View, Windows® based display software • Strike Guard Simulation Software for training and testing Specifications: Installation: Materials and hardware included for roof-mount Site Requirements: Minimal siting restrictions Communication: Fiber-optic - 30 m cable included Battery: Lithium primary cells, 4-year life minimum Strike View now operates across a Local Area Network (LAN) Strike View Software connects to the Strike Guard Data Receiver to provide PC based lightning data displays, alarming and data logging. Strike View provides information to assist the user to categorize lightning data, analyze storm progression, and determine time to resume operations. Strike View expands upon the information presented by the Lightning Data Receiver. Strike View with E-mail Notification automatically sends e-mails for lightning caution, warning, alarm and all-clear conditions. E-mail is compatible with text messaging and paging technology to provide alerts while mobile. Strike View Software operates across a local area network (LAN).
