- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Tecniplast USA, Inc., West Chester, PA 19380, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the following items: 1) (5 ea) Smart Flow air handling unity-UL Certified, 100/110 v 50/60 Hz. This purchase is to upgrade the older Tecniplast Slim Line Trollies (BOX 110CP01). The Tecniplast Slim line Trolleys are used to supply and exhaust air to and from the Tecniplast IVC racks that are currently in use throughout the animal facility to house rodents. This upgrade will provide advanced technology for a more energy efficient operation, better alarm system, and more accurate control of the micro-environment. Failure to use genuine Tecniplast products to operate these rack systems will breach the micro environment and cause loss of valuable research animals and data. Therefore it is imperative that no substitutes are made for these parts in order to maintain the integrity of the system. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Purchasing Agent at the address stated above. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Tecniplast USA, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 339999/500. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $150,000.
