- SW-2 PRINCIPLE FEATURES The work to be performed includes the following principal features: a. Contractor will install 12 new cat 6 data drops in room 16 in the basement of building 62, routing the cabling in the cabling tray down the hallway to the communications closet (known as the (one-half) room. Contractor will terminate 4 drops in one box each on the south, east and north walls of room 16. b. Additionally, the contractor will install 6 new cat 6 data drops in the quote mark MLF office quote mark of Room 11 in the basement of building 62 routing the cabling thru the ceiling to the communications closet and terminate all 6 drops into one box on the north side of the room. c. All drops will be properly terminated in the communications closet to the patch panel under the data switches. If a patch panel is not available for termination, the contractor will provide a patch panel of the same make and model currently used. All equipment, boxes termination points and cable will be new. d. All work will follow the BICSI standards and EIA/TIA 568A, 569A, 606 and 607 standards.
