Description
The Veterans Administration, Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS), has a critical requirement for the repair and follow-on 24/7 maintenance of the inoperable duress and patient wandering systems located at the University Drive Medical Center. University Drive C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240, and the Heinz Medical Center, 1010 Delafield Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15215. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 561621, with a size standard of $12.5 million. The solicitation (VA244-13-R-1242) will be an SDVOSB (service-disabled, veteran-owned, small business) set aside. Only those businesses certified as such on www.vetbiz.gov will be eligible. Estimated posting date is @ 9/9/13, and the solicitation will be posted for no more than 15 days. This is a short-fused requirement owing to the end of the FY. Prospective offerors should expect a lengthy site visit (4-8 hours) to be held sometime during the weeks of 9/9/13 or 9/16/13. While the Government anticipates making a single, firm, fixed-price award for this solicitation, it will be solicited using a Statement of Objectives (SOO), method. The offerors will provide a Statement of Work (SOW) as a part of their offers. The SOW will provide an assessment of the problems with the system, the repairs needed, and prescribe a 24/7 maintenance plan to ensure system operability. When posted, offerors should carefully consider the unique and complex requirements of the solicitation. A site visit is highly encouraged and offerors should be mindful of the short timeframe for the procurement. No solicitation packages will be mailed. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor FBO for the follow-on solicitation to this notice and to any amendments that may be issued.
