- Description
- The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) intends to negotiate with Software Diversified Services (SDS) dba J W Lampi, Inc., Minneapolis, MN, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a Single Source, to renew the IP and SNA network monitoring software called Vital Signs and Vital Signs for VTAM which operate solely within the IBM zEnterprise and Enterprise Servers. The CIO's Data Center was licensed for IBM software called Tivoli Omegamon for Mainframe Networkds which would need to be upgraded to support the acquisition of new IBM zEnterprise Serviers. IBM's software is lacking in its capability to provide Continuous Operations and High Availability during its operations because of a dependency on external Linux Servers for monitoring. SDS provides the Vital Signs and Vital Signs for VTAM network software monitors which operate solely within the IBM zEnterprise and Enterprise Servers, provides more capabilities, and costs significantly less to operate over a 5 or more year period, OPM anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed prices purchase order to J W Lampi, Inc. for this requirement. Interested parties that believe they could satisfy the requirements listed above for OPM may clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition. Any questions regarding this notice must e submitted in writing via email to Joyce Bland at joyce.bland@opm.gov. All resopnses to this notice of intent must be submitted so that they are received at joyce.bland@opm.gov no later than September 11, 2013 at 5:00pm EST.
